Around since 1857 this is certainly an old pub which happens to have a good restaurant. It feels like a world away from Auckland yet is actually less than 30km from the central downtown area. The menu is extensive covering brunch, lunch and dinner and there’s a separate kids’ menu too.

With indoor, outdoor and a covered deck, there are plenty of seating options. This would be a great place for a family or large group meal as there’s a lot of seating. There’s a toy box and the river to explore (down lots of steps) while you’re waiting for food but as the sign says, children under 15 years need to be accompanied.
