On the way to /from the ferry terminal on Donald Bruce Road, on the Western side of the island, Te Huruhi Primary school allows supervised kids to use their playground equipment and school pool during the school summer holidays. The playground areas are great with lots of climbing, balancing and swinging opportunities available! Also check out the swan plants around the school gardens that are usually heaving with caterpillar and chrysalis activity over the summer!

The school pool is open to the public over the summer school holiday (January) if you fancy a break from seawater! It is sometimes in use by school holiday programmes so it’s best to check out the school’s website for opening times. As there are no life guards on duty, adults will need to supervise their own kids around the water.
