Overview
Suitable for all ages
This small museum is dedicated to the history of the region but also has a range of changing exhibitions which can have a national or international focus. If the weather isn’t favourable or you’re just wanting to escape from the heat or have a change of pace, you could easily pass an hour or so here. If you can plan ahead, checkout the very varied programme of bookable school holiday workshops for ages 4+ and look at the website for special school holiday events.
There’s an onsite café for a morning snack or lunch with seating inside or outside, overlooking the river. Note that the cafe opening hours are different to the museum hours (see under contact info).
