Silo Park is an area on Auckland’s waterfront that is a hub of family friendly events year round from markets, to food stalls, open air cinema and music sessions (the latter 2 in the summer only). When there aren’t any events, it’s still worth checking out the playground especially if you’re wanting a break from walking or scooting along the waterfront. You can admire the view over the harbour and dream about which super yacht you’ll buy next while the kids play….

The equipment is set on sand and includes climbing structures, swings, sculptures that can be climbed on and into, a hopscotch and four square area near a basketball court. There’s also now a water play area (the type where the kids can pump water and control it with gates). There’s also a pool of water that isn’t heated and although graduated from both sides, would come up to a preschooler’s thigh or bottom in the middle, so definitely a place to supervise your children around.
