This unassuming cafe has a surprisingly great space for kids out the back, so if you’re in or travelling through Central Hawkes Bay and looking for the kids to have a run around while grabbing a coffee, snack or full meal, check Hatuma Cafe out.

The menu covers breakfast and lunch with half portions as well as a kids’ menu available. Meals including cabinet food, change daily but things like pies, sandwiches, quiche, battered fish all served with chips and salad are usually on offer. There’s a $10 lunch special everyday as well.

Outside there’s a wee elevated playhouse, trampoline and grassy area. There’s outside seating meaning that you can keep an eye on the kids from your table. Highchair and basket of indoor toys are both available.

Dinner is available every Friday evening with a special menu coming out every week.
