If you have ice cream crazy kids like mine, it’s good to know where you can buy the best ones and in Wellington we’re somewhat spoilt for choice!

Gelissimo sells gelato and dairy free sorbets in 2 waterfront locations. The main shop is near Te Papa and the Wharewaka (and has a huge selection of flavours). They also sell hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, scones and hot soup (Monday – Friday) at the Gelateria.

There’s a second kiosk near the Freyberg Pool at Oriental Beach but the flavour selection is more limited (roughly 10 flavours). They also sell toasted sandwiches, waffles and hot and cold drinks here.
