This pool complex was opened in 2014 and has a glass roof making it wonderfully light, although also very hot on sunny days (swimmers are fine in the water but spectators be warned).

There’s a good separate toddlers’ pool with water features and from 1pm-5pm every afternoon at the weekends and during the school holidays, there are inflatables (deep end of the main pool 2.4m and teaching pool) and games (shallow end 1.2m) as part of their Splash session.

There’s also a hydroslide which kids 8 and over can use alone, those under 8 must be accompanied by someone over 16. Limited opening times (from 3pm weekdays, 12pm Saturdays and 11am Sundays, school and public holidays until 6pm).

These pools are close enough to SH1 if you’re needing a stop on a journey in or out of Wellington and have swimming things handy.

There’s a cafe onsite which has a fenced off kids’ area for them to play in.
