Overview
Suitable for all ages
This is a relatively easy walk to the local viewpoint which can be enjoyed even by relatively young kids, although it is a steady uphill climb. The summit sits at 550m and the most direct route zigzags up through open parkland, past ponds and then through forest, from Hanmer township. It is a well signposted, wide track with different routes available if you want to extend your walk. The shortest walk can take approximately 1 hour (return). From the top there are 360 degree views on a clear day.
Depending on the weather, you may wish to take a picnic with you to enjoy at or near the top. Worth keeping in mind – the only toilets and food/drink options are back in the town of Hanmer. If you can get your buggy past the wooden entry point at the start of the walk, the paths are suitable for buggies.
