Already being referred to as the ‘Truck Museum’ this place opened at the end of 2015 and immediately got rave reviews. Originally one man’s collection (Bill Richardson) that he would take people round by appointment, Transport World was born with this collection and further purchases, to create what you see today – over 300 vehicles of every category imaginable and a whole lot of other motoring related memorabilia as well. If you as an adult, are into old, classic vehicles, you’ll be very keen to take the whole family here. And luckily for the rest of the family, there’s much more here than just old cars!

There’s the Construction Zone Lego Room – a great place to hangout with lego, bean bags and IPad’s with interactive games.

While most vehicles can’t be touched, there is a replica 1935 Police Paddy Wagon, which kids can climb into. There’s even old-style, mini prisoners’ dress ups to add to the role playing.

Being home to Bert Munro’s famous feat, The World’s Fastest Indian film runs continuously in another part of the attraction.

There’s plenty of space for little ones to run around and explore although it’s important that they are supervised at all times. The Grille Cafe gets highly recommended too, both for the food and for being child-friendly. There’s a sectioned off play area within the cafe (see top photo) with lots of toys, so you might even get an uninterrupted drink or bite to eat if you visit!
