The Wainui Store is a convenience shop selling basic grocery items, scoop ice cream and freshly brewed coffee. It also has a selection of baking including pies and sweet treats. But it’s the fish and chips that particularly comes recommended!

If you’re in the Wainui Beach area Thursday – Sunday and don’t feel like cooking, you have the choice of great fish and chips, burgers or pizza from the Wainui Store. The fish is caught locally, delivered weekly and cooked in your choice of batter or panic crumbed. Chips are cooked in beef dripping, unless you specify vegetable oil. Eat at a picnic table (undercover) or take your food down to the beach (a block away). There’s a swing set while you’re waiting for your food to be ready or call ahead to pre order.
