Overview
Suitable for all ages
This is a wide, safe swimming beach for kids with showers, changing rooms and toilets. There’s also a shaded playground (sails and big trees) at Little Oneroa beach which is great for younger kids (perhaps up to around 6/7 years old). A big grassy area isn’t shaded but has free BBQs for general use.
A general store on the other side of the car parking area has good coffee and ice cream cones for $1.50. If you’re hungry for pizza, Dragonfired Pizzas are worth checking out – look here for when they operate.
There are also a couple of walks from here – you can walk along the rocks at low tide to Oneroa Beach and there’s a track on the East side of the beach winding out all the way to Fisherman’s Rock. It’s a little steep in places and definitely not suitable for buggies but should be manageable by young kids. There’s one little bay that’s only accessible from this track and is popular for launching kayaks.
