This rink has been around for years and the staff are on hand to offer novices tips on how to gain balance and have a good time. At selected times of day, a section of the ice rink is available for either public ice hockey or ice bumper cars – separate fees are applicable and the cars must be pre booked. No matter what activity you’re doing on the ice, wear clothes that are comfortable and think about bringing a change of trousers for young kids if they’re likely to fall over (and therefore possibly get wet quite a lot). Gloves or mittens and long socks (when hiring skates) are advisable too. Helmets can be hired (free of charge) at the skate hire or bring your own ski helmet if you have one. It’s a good idea for children to wear a helmet.

For ice skating, plastic ride ons are available to hire (see under price) for kids to hold onto or sit on.

You can’t take your own food or drink in, but there is a cafe onsite where non-skaters can sit, so long as kids under 5 are supervised by someone else on the ice.
