Waikato Museum – Te Whare Taonga o Waikato, Hamilton

Overview

Suitable for all ages

There are lots of interactive exhibits at this museum, which helps to keep kids entertained and engaged. You can pick up an ‘I Spy’ activity sheet (free) if you intend to have a general explore of the museum or head to one of the specific kids’ areas like Planet Warriors  and Exscite (admission fees apply but pay once to get into both, check here). In Planet Warriors, your kids can take part in lots of activities to see how their actions affect the environment. Exscite is more science based from creating online art, to building a giant Lego car and playing musical instruments. Both come highly recommended by Facebook followers, as does the museum in general.

There are free family friendly events and special exhibitions throughout the year which you can check out on their website here or have a look on their Facebook page here.
