Glenorchy Animal Experience

Overview

Suitable for all ages of animal lovers!

Just a couple of kilometres north of Glenorchy, this farm lets families get up close to a huge variety of animals in a beautiful setting. The area that the animals occupy is small, making it very easily accessible for kids of all ages. The animals are friendly and happy to eat if you buy food from the counter ($5/bag). You can expect to see Clysdales horses, alpacha, llama, kune kune, deer, goats  and sheep amongst others.

As well as feeding and patting/stroking animals, you can also watch a sheep being sheared at 2.30pm everyday. If you’re there early, you can go away and return without paying extra, so long as it’s on the same day.

If you’re staying in Queenstown with a car, this is a great day trip as it’s just under an hour’s drive along the beautiful Lake Wakatipu to get here and you’ll feel like you’ve entered a different world!
